Position:

Office Manager & HR Director.

What does this mean?

I wear many FWL hats in my role. Firstly, I oversee HR (Human Resources), and I am accountable for managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s HR, which includes recruitment, benefits, annual leave, scheduling, training and development, complete internal audits, manage employee relations, payroll, creating and reviewing training tools and process documentation, and employment law compliance. Anyone can approach me, and it will remain confidential. As an HR Director and Mental Health First Aider, I can schedule well-being meetings to discuss your well-being and mental health, create stress management plans, and arrange training if you are struggling with time management or capacity, or refer you to help if you are struggling.

I am also responsible for the Health & Safety of the company, reviewing risk assessments, ensuring staff are first aid and fire trained, arranging fire drills, and overseeing compliance with health & safety laws and updating our policies and procedures.

Additionally, I serve as the office manager and manage the admin team, ensuring the office is well-maintained and working on the company’s quality systems certification (CQS).

 

How long have you worked for FWL:

Since 2020! I started as an Office Administrator before becoming Senior Administrator and then moving into my Office Management & HR role.

 

Tell us a bit about you:

I studied at Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics while working at Family Wise and got my law degree. I have a particular passion for employment law, which has qualified me for my HR role, which is chock full of employment and health & safety law and regulations!

Do you have a pet?

I have two ginger tom cats that are very naughty: Archie and Milo.
