Senior Researcher

What does this mean?

I assist the case managers researching probate cases identified by the Bona Vacantia List and I have also completed some family history binder work for FWL clients.

How long have you worked for FWL:

I started with FWL in November 2020.

Tell us a bit about you:

I’m a recently retired Maths teacher but I still work for the same school one day a week as head of the school’s CCF Royal Navy Section. I know nothing about boats, but I can do admin and love a spreadsheet!

I’m married to Graham (also recently retired) and mum to Ellie and Sarah, my lovely girls who will be 29 at the end of this year. Graham and I have lived in Lincolnshire for just over twenty years, but I am originally from Kent/South London.

Our third ‘daughter’ is the adorable and very affectionate Ruby – a fourteen-year-old Staffy/GSD cross.  We’ve had her for almost three years now, adopted through the RSPCA after her previous owner died.  She is very spritely for her age and loves a walk and tennis ball, when she’s not asleep on the sofa.

Apart from genealogy, I am learning to garden (there is just much I don’t know) and trying to tame the garden that became a bit of a jungle while we were working full time. I also love to watch cricket and am a member at Trent Bridge.

What are your aspirations ?

Apart from getting the garden under control, the opportunity to see a bit more of the country– taking some drives out in my beloved Mini.
